Apprenticeship Awards 2008
Welcome to the Apprenticeship Awards 2008 website.
The Apprenticeship Awards are held annually and hosted by the Learning and Skills Council, who manage and fund Apprenticeships in England.
The winners were announced at a glittering ceremony, attended by over 550 guests at the Royal Horticultural Halls in central London, where Britain’s Got Talent TV presenter Amanda Holden presented Awards to this year’s eight Winners and sixteen Highly Commended apprentices and employers.
Now in their fifth year the Awards have been designed to recognise and reward both employers and apprentices who are successfully using Apprenticeships to improve their business performance and tackle skills shortages, whose contribution to the workplace has exceeded their employers’ expectations and resulted in measurable benefits or who have overcome difficulties to succeed through their Apprenticeship.
The quality of entries, from both employers and apprentices, in previous years has been outstanding, with over 1,400 entries received in 2008 alone. So if you are an employer who is committed to training your workforce through Apprenticeships and can clearly show the direct benefits to your business or if you are an apprentice who is succeeding in your chosen career through your Apprenticeship then an Apprenticeship Award could be the perfect opportunity for you to shine.
